It uses Focus keywords to make your content optimization easier. It does not matter which keywords you are targeting your content by.
Focus Keyword means your primary keyword or target keyword, on which you want to rank in the search engine.
Yoast SEO provides suggestions in three primary colors.
Green (Good) – Your content is fully optimized.
Orange (OK) – Your content is not well optimized. This requires more improvement.
Red (Needs improvement) – Your content is not optimized at all.
Just by adding Focus keywords and changing SEO score to Green color, your content will not perform better in search engines.
Select long-tail keywords for your focus keyword. Also whose competition is low.
Also, use keywords related to focus keywords in your content. This makes your content more powerful. However, this feature is available in the premium version of Yoast SEO.
Google Preview, Readability Check and Work with Latest Google Algorithms

Installation and Configuration

Indexing in Yoast SEO
To get your posts and pages indexed in the search engine, you have to click Search Appearance >> Content Types and select Yes option.
If you want to add a custom meta description for your article, then choose the Show option.
Apply the same process to index the page in the search engine. In addition, you can exclude individual posts and pages from the search engine.
Click on the Edit button of your post or page that you do not want to index in the search engine, then scroll to the Yoast SEO section. After that click on the gear icon and select “No search engines to show this Post in search results?”
If you want to index categories and tags in the search engine, go to the taxonomies tab and follow the screenshot below.
But I recommend not indexing categories and tags in search engines. This creates a duplicate content issue and Google does not like websites with duplicate content.
Create XML Sitemap
You do not need any kind of third-party app or website to create a sitemap for your WordPress site. Yoast comes with a built-in XML Sitemaps feature that allows you to create Sitemaps for the entire site.
