Friends who do your marathon training runs with you even when they aren’t marathon training deserve an award. I was so grateful they met me in the cold.

Stopping at the car wash to get some water is always fun. We were all so thirsty during our run, so we stopped anywhere and everywhere we could go for water.

Snow (top left corner) and leaves in the same picture. I am not missing the 80-degree runs and thoroughly embrace the cold chill in the air (as long as my fingers and ears are warm).

Maddie had on the prettiest Hokas I have ever seen, and the first thing I did in my car after the run was purchase a pair. It was the perfect timing because I needed a new pair. She said they are the perfect combo between the Clifton and Rincon. Cushioned, light, and a bit wider. Maddie worked at Runner’s Corner for a while, so I always trust her when she says a pair of shoes is excellent.

I did a modified strength for runners class on the peloton app, and every move burned so badly. I took some time off from upper body strength because of my tendonitis, and it’s crazy how fast my muscles forget what to do when I take a break.

Andrew worked all weekend, Brooke was with her dad, and Knox was with his mom, so it was just the little ones and me. PS I had a question the other day about how we do custody with our bigger kids… With Knox, we follow the Utah Code, so the calendar is laid out for us on how to do 50/50, and with Brooke, we take it a month at a time with availability, he comes here one month, and we take her there the next month (it’s pretty amazing how well that has worked for nine years now!!). We also switch off with holidays!

Skye experienced her first macaroon ever and was very happy about it.

Beck loved the clocks changing.

We watched the New York City Marathon together and about halfway through she ran into her room to change into running clothes. Even the four-year-olds are inspired when they watch a marathon.

We go through Mel’s healthy applesauce muffins in roughly a day.

The highlight of Sunday was seeing Brookie again.

Also, I’m really hoping at my next race there is one of these.

Are you missing summer running or happy to have said goodbye?

How do you feel about macaroons? Love them, or would you rather have a different type of cookie?

How do you split up the time with anyone who shares custody with their kids?

Last pair of running shoes that you bought?
